A view of our Clinic
As you leave your car, you and your pet walk up a gently sloping curved sidewalk to the front door. There are no steps to climb. As you enter, you see the front desk to the left, and a warm, comfortable waiting room on the right.
Two examination rooms lead directly from the waiting room, with ample space and adjustable examination tables to allow for small or large pets.
Adjacent to the examination rooms is the laboratory. We are able to do most required lab work here at the clinic, including complete blood counts, chemistry profiles, urinalyses, viral and heartworm testing, diagnostic cytology, and parasite exams. Some specialized tests are sent to an outside lab for analysis, with the results usually available the next day. We can get an accurate picture of your pet's metabolic status right here in most instances. We try to diagnose your pet's condition and educate you as quickly as possible.
If your pet's problem can be corrected by medication, our hospital is outfitted with a full pharmacy down the hall from the lab. If further diagnostic examination is required, a large treatment area is available, complete with a large window overlooking the room from the hallway, where you can view the procedures being done.
Should X-rays be needed, we have a state-of-the-art x-ray machine, complete with a floating table for ease of movement to position the animal, and an adjacent darkroom with an automatic X-ray processor for quick results.
We also routinely perform diagnostic ultrasound for acquiring live images of the internal organs and heart, and can monitor pregancy and the health of the fetus as well.
The surgical suite is located directly off of the treatment area and includes a heated operating table and advanced cardiac and respiratory monitors. We leave nothing to chance during anesthesia.
A bank of cages for animals recovering from surgery or on intravenous fluids is also situated in the treatment room, where constant monitoring is possible.
The clinic also includes two fully ventilated wards for animals that may need to stay overnight.
One ward is exclusively for dogs, while the second ward is designated for cats and other smaller animals that appreciate a more quiet atmosphere. Adjacent to the wards is a large grooming tub for animals that require medicated or therapeutic baths for various conditions.
If you would like a tour, please ask next time you are here, and we will be glad to show you around, time and procedures permitting.
